Personal Brand Photography Session at Altruistics Beer Bread Bakery
On March 5 of this year I traveled up to Gravenhurst in Muskoka to visit a fellow small business owner Dave Munro. Dave needed photographs taken of his retail space and product to better market his brand.
Dave owns Altruistics Beer Bread Bakery. ATBBB is a Social Enterprise who uses their Craft Beer Bread products to sponsor the Administrative budget for Ontario Parents Advocating for Children with Cancer (OPACC).
It all began ten years ago when Dave found his deceased mother’s bread making machine complete with his grandmother’s recipe for Oatmeal Molasses bread. He then went to work to develop his own bread recipes, using Ontario craft beers. He has many recipes of which my favourite one this far is his Parmesan Spice Bread.
On arriving to Dave’s location, I was both impressed and surprised that he had such a large front window on his store front location. He is also situated in the middle of Gravenhurst’s downtown hub.
On entering I could see he had the bakery section well under way and it looked very impressive with all the new machinery. In the front section he plans to have an artistic vendor in there to use the space with him. There was a long line of empty Ontario craft beer cans in the window, no doubt ones he has used to make his bread, (or maybe a few he has drank socially off the job himself, I didn’t ask!)
I learned so much that afternoon on bread making, batching ready made bread kits for sale and his plans around hosting classes on premises on how to bake bread following of course Dave’s recipes.
I had a lot of fun taking photographs of Dave, his product, equipment, and space in general. Draping sheets to set up his bread, taking photographs of Dave himself and a set up of workstations to simulate a class room setting for Dave’s future classes. I got a good share of climbing, standing on ladders and step stools to get the right shot!!
